Newbie extending WIFI range question

Hi, I've done basic home networking setups with internet/routers in the past, but am new to extending wifi outdoors. I'm wondering someone can point me in the right direction for what I might need for my situation. See attached map for a visual of what I'm trying to do.

The house at the bottom of the map has a cable internet connection and I'm trying to extend that uphill to the other house 500 ft away. As you can see, there are some tress in front of both houses with a vineyard in the middle.

From reading posts in this forum, it seems that 500 ft with some tree obstructions should be possible, but I'm not sure of what equipment I'll need. I'm setting this up for my parents-in-law who are non-technical people, so I'd like to keep the number of devices to a minimum to make it easier on then if there is troubleshooting down the road when the internet goes out.

Will a wireless router and high gain directional antenna at the internet end be good enough to get the internet inside the destination house? It would be nice not to use a repeater or second antenna at the destination house if possible.

Please let me know what's realistic here. I appreciate any tips!

Thanks,
-Ryan

That is some dense foliage If your standing on the roof tops of both houses on your tippy toes LOL is the path less dense / more clear?
No one will can say sure try this and it should work !
I can say with out a doubt that I would not even attempt using consumer grade wifi routers or repeaters for this setup.

What I would do is try 2 Ubiquiti Bullet 2HP paired with 19 dbi grid antennas on the 2.4 Ghz band. Not panels ! Wire Grids.
Mount them on the roof tops with Tripods and 10 foot 1 1/2 " mast. Pick the spot where the foliage is minimal.
Also Use shielded outdoor Cat5 cable And ground the mast.

I have can't warranty a huge smile ,but I'm pretty sure that after fine tuning the radios power, ack , settings the link should support a regular internet connection.
