    Peer to Peer Wireless Growth

Does anyone know if it is possible to be able to pick up a signal from someone elses wireless device, which will enable me to jump from node to node and then download files from someone elses PC, say 10 miles away, without me paying for it!?

I'm not looking to do this myself of course (!), but am considering it for a topic in emerging ICT themes.

Or, I am looking for a good Strategic topic concerning major emerging ICT themes.

I believe what you are thinking about is grid or mesh networks. It basically eliminates the backbone strereotype until you need to get to a big pipe. It actually is what the Internet is meant to be where it is a multitude of nodes connected and acting as routers with the best path ability.

The best thing for you to do, is remember Google is your friend and look for mesh/grid networks. There is software/systems out there already, but it is mainly for specific locations yet.
