    Wifi speeds

Hi I have virgin media superhub with the lattest firmware and my laptop is an acer aspire 4920g ,I am using a edimax wireless USB adapter ew7811un on the laptop.
With the wireless adapter I am getting 72 Mbps and a download speed of 42Mb and upload of 2.80 mb ,but on my girlfriends laptop she gets the full 60 mb download speed and her wireless adapter only gets 62 Mbps .
Can I please have some help how to get my speed up to the full 60mb .
I am guessing it's not the router that's the problem as my girlfriends speeds are fine so it must be something with my laptop.
Any help would be much apretiated.

USB Wireless adapters are vary in their capacity to provide good signal.

The internal Antenna of a laptop is in many case better than the one on many USB Wireless cards.

Your Adapter while being small and thus comfortable and cute, is probably on the low end of performance.

Usually Adapters with good external Antenna might work better.
