WiFi disconnects for split second and reconnects instantly.

Hi, my uncle(ex-dell emplyee) has done multiple speed tests resulting in almost perfect speed and connectivity is very good too.. i believe i am running RoadRunner and my router/modem is a Belkin.

The only problem is my wifi randomly disconnects for a couple of seconds and reconnects like nothing ever happened... Usually disconnecting me from every single match I join(PS3). Also i have seen wifi give out on my itouch so i know that theres no problem with the device.

We've had this router(belkin) for about 3-4 months and before that it has never given out not once.

I have also posted my problem on Yahoo! Answers and someone gave me an educated-looking response that i tried and had no effect. (Her diagnosis was that my router kept disconnecting when it sensed significant interference such as a neighbors wifi) i changed my wifi router to a "static" channel.

Please help me figure out how to keep the wifi from droppIng out every 5 minutes. I am verryyyyy annoyed and i demand a resolution. ^.^

It can be a periodical environmental noise that depresses the signal ( http://www.ezlan.net/wbars.html ).

Try to change the transmitting channel on the Router.

1, 6, and 11 are preferred try them all and choose the one that gives the best result.

Otherwise, it might be the Wireless Router. To put it mildly Belkin Devices are not among the first choice of Enthusiasts.

P.S., It is not clear who are you Demanding resolution from?

Instead of "demanding" anything from total strangers - you should should consider "humbly requesting" and or "pretty please and thank you" would go a long way.

In most LANs the Router is acting as a Gateway and relaying DNS requests.

The DNS error might indicate that when the play station is trying to reconnect the Router is Not available.

I would try another Wireless Router.

If any of your Wireless client is Dual band (AGN), then get a Dual Band Wireless Router they deliver much faster Wireless.

    Example: http://homestore.cisco.com/en-us/Rou...VVviewprod.htm

If you do need Dual Band the above is a good solution for 802.11n too.
