    InSSider vs Netstumbler

    I personally always used Netstumbler.
Thought at initial migration to win7 my Intel2200BG would NOT work with NS anymore. So I had to grab something else and that's where I found InSSider (http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider). Now... InSSider works with all cards, fine. But... for some reason it looks that on my pc it has a hard limit for strong signals around -50 dBm...it will cut/flat out the top of the curve and I will not see the real high value.
Anybody has such a symptom ?
Anyway... I got a wonderful WUSB600N...that work also with NS in win7...and does capturing... forget Intel...but this is OOT sorry.
    Regards
    Alex

    1) the latest InSSIDer shows 11 meg networks as round topped and 54 meg networks as flat topped

    2) after installing InSSIDer and Xirrus freeware on my two week old laptop, I discovered I have

    sharpwrapi.dll
    Registrar.exe

    and other symptoms of Ulraview

Ultraview is a computer surveillance program that logs user keystrokes, takes screenshots, captures e-mail messages and online chat conversations and records web sites visited. Gathered data can be transferred to a configurable remote host. It can also be accessed via the Internet. Ultraview is able to hide its running processes and avoid detection. The threat runs on every Windows startup.
I have this on both laptops. Both laptops run wireless software.

It is not on any of my hard wired machines.

get Cleanup.exe and run it. if you see sharpwrapi and registrar in the last stages of the cleanup process you, too, are blessed with Ultraview.

Update: added Xirrus by itself to another computer. Sharpwrapi and Registrar showed up. Deleted Xirrus - they went away. InSSIDer good, and I don't use XIRRUS now.
