Is anyone familiar with RoamAD's technology?
Basically they are a New Zealand company that is setting up a W-MAN in Auckland based on their adapted 802.11b version. The initial test network is 3 square kilometers (with 97% coverage in this area!), with a 100 SQ kilometre area to follow.
They apparently have a star topology and wireless backhaul that allows for such a large deployment cost effectively and with such high coverage ratios.
Any comments about them? Bye bye to 3G in cities? :) (although they say they want to work with the cellular carriers of course!)
