hiiiiii guys
some bad guys use my make Evil Twin of my wireless AP the use the same ssid & MAC (bssid) .as i know wireless zero configuration will prefer the wlan with the strongest signal in this case ...
first of all i need to understand exactly what factors WZC use identify the wlans (i.e ssid, bssid, .....AND what???)
secondly if there is two wlans the first one let's say essid=wlan ,bssid=00:11:22:33:44:55 signal strength=98% channel=9
the second with the fowlloing essid=wlan ,bssid=00:11:22:33:44:55 signal strength=50% channel 1
which WZC will prefer ' imean does the channel has priroty than signal strength or there is other factors
help me please
thanks

Hello Inuxxuni,
Your post is not clear. You seem to be asking several questions in one. Please take some time and properly explain, what your issues are. To answer one question at least, here is a link; http://paininthetech.com/2005/10/25/disable-wireless-zero-configuration-in-windows-xp/ that explains WZC.

forgive me for my bad english my issue is:
i have a wireless access point through which my clients recive internet .
some guys make a n evil twin using some tools like airsnarf and broadcast using my access point essid & bssid and i think even the channel i use to broadcast
in some way i don't know how my clients associate to this facke access point even if my access point broadcast at the same time .
so when any client open any page they found a facke login screen just like mine .they put the user name & password the bad guys recive all my clients passwords
my question is why my clients pc's connect to the facke AP not to mine ?????
i need to understand how WZC programmed to understand how it's prefere to connect to facke AP not to mine
Thank you for Your time

Lnuxxunl,
If I may, you don’t have a WZC issue. You need to lockdown your AP rather than having others access it from the backdoor and control it for you.
There is a great book that explains clearly some solutions to the issues you are having, and goes further to explain providing Wi-Fi access for free or a fee.
Here is the link. (Click) for access: http://www.amazon.com/Wi-Fi-Hotspots-Wireless-Networking-Technology/dp/1587052660/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1229109672&sr=8-6
This should be required reading for all novices/newbies.
Check it out!
