Very basic question: desktop wireless connection to ATT2wire modem

Greetings,
Just a basic question: I have a ATT 2wire modem installation (L.A./Calif). Currently running a desktop off of it via LAN connection, as well as a laptop wirelessly.
I plan to move the desktop around my offices basically out of reach for a LAN connection. So I would prefer to connect that desktop to the modem wirelessly.
Preferences? Internal wireless card or USB exterior wireless adaptor? Which protocol, according to the 2wire modem capabilities?

PCI card is huge. Enough room for proper heat dissipation. Airflow provided by case fans. Enough room for a decent antenna connector ( RP-TNC good, RP-SMA pathetic )

USB card puny. USB connector limited in current capability. No heat dissipation, no airflow, weeny antennas. Weak radio with weak antenna.

If I was a gambler I would bet a nickel you have an unused PCI slot. Chances are you will never find any other use for it.

Better radio, better antenna, better cooling, use a resource that's going to waste, or tie up a USB slot with a puny performer. Hmmmm....

I agree with ad5mb. go with an internal pci card for better performance.

In terms of picking such a PCI card, does it matter if one picks a "regular" b/g card or a "souped up" flavorone - RangeBooster, MINO, SpeedBooster, etc... Seems that such cards would be preferably compatible with similarly built access points/DSL modem: are ATT/2wire modems basic ones in regard to their broadcast capabilities?

Non-standard enhancements do not work between different brands of equipment. Manufacturers create these things to peddle their gear. If you get the double turbo wonderwhiz card, get the double turbo wonderwhiz router from the sme manufacturer, or save your money.
