I travel extensively with my laptop for business. I continually have connectivity issues where my signal is weak and sporadic. I found a mobile wifi USB adapter online. Has anybody purchased this item and can share their experiences? Here is the link to this item:

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

With 4000mW of Power !!!! Yikes That's enough juice to bring down a plane.
Has to be a type-o ,, If it isn't I would not be anywhere near it especially not 3 feet from it.
4000mw is typically 4 watts. That's enough to cook with. Most outdoor AP's are 200 to 500mW. Consumer equipment like linksys /dlink/ belkin are 50 to 80 usually.

The power draw would kill your battery very quickly while it's cooking your toast.
I'd stick with the smaller adapters with an extension cable 5 to 10 feet and duck tape or sticky tack it to the wall/window where the signal is best. Poke a hole at the center in an aluminum pie plate stick the usb adapter in it and voila you have a directional antenna with higher gain.

You said ANY Feedback.

I, too, am dissatisfied with my laptop's internal wifi card. I am looking for a powerful wifi antenna on the go for business travel. I want to be able to pick up radio signals form Mars. :D

However, $290 is too expensive. Any other alternatives that deliver stellar power and performance without the obscene price?
