Wifi privacy

erm i was wondering if u are downloading a file using torrents like utorrent can the wifi provider see what file u are downloading?
secondly if u use proxy can the wifi provider see the site which u have opened?

Yes they can. My wireless provider said to me dont do anything thats going to have the government knocking on my door because I will have to send them your way.

so that means even if i use a proxy to browse websites the wifiprovider knows what sites i am seeing? but i don't understand how they can see what file u are downloading from utorrent? could someone please explain that.
