I have setup a wireless network for the folks who wanted high speed and couldn't get it any other way.
Basic and simple. Using 1 connection to a cable 8m/800k connection.
2 ap's serving atm one ap hooked to a second with 5 clients on and the other Ap serving 2 clients.
Each residence is using a router either there own or the built in router from the cpe's.
A few of the folks on this network as well as my self are playing with zoneminder security software as well as my self.

My network on it's own cable connection is close enough I can setup an AP in client mode and connect to the other network.
What I want to do is if possible bridge the two lans on one layer no need for windows networks to function. We just want to have access to each others Apache servers and if it works , down the line we want to setup an ftp on one lan that ZM can backup events and other files too.
We don't need to share the internet through this bridge.

What I have learned of networking has all come from the net , this forum and trial and error. I was thinking if I setup the new AP's wireless IP in the subnet on the network down the road. 192.168.25.xxx and turn on it's router but shut off the dhcp and give it's lan address static on my subnet 192.168.0.xxx. The radio I will use is a tranzeo it has a setting for static routes and dns 1 and 2 . If I set one to each of the address for the dhcp routers on each network will this work. Would I also have to add the new dns in the PC's secondary dns option ?

The goal is to be able to sit here and access my friends server with out going through the internet. Just type in the local address on a different subnet and for them as well to access mine.
Thanks for any help/ideas

I was offered help from a very intelligent fellow on another forum.
He turned me on too m0n0wall. Witch is a stand alone software firewall router.
Using two older PC's with 3 nic cards each I have the lan bridge working full swing. An added plus is the noticed speed and performance increase with certain programs. My game server and team speak server both perform 50% better.
I'm just in love with m0n0wall. The latest beta version has an install to hard drive feature witch worked perfect. I'll never buy another over the counter router again!!!!!
I used 2 x tr6019 AP's for the link at 640 yards per google earth with a Maple tree in the middle and a balsam and another maple tree on 1 end of the link.
One test netted 20 Mbps speed on a file transfer acording to the software meter built into m0n0wall.
I'm impressed no doubt .
