Hello smart people,

I recently bought a pair of Sony wireless 2.4 Ghz surround sound headphones. They work great, sound great, are super comfortable... only one problem: When I use them, anything that communicates with my wireless router stops working. This becomes an issue when I want to watch a movie while my girlfriend is working on her homework for college, which is pretty much the reason I got headphones in the first place.

I don't want to get rid of the headphones because otherwise they're perfect. I'd rather replace my router if that could help in any way. Or perhaps there are settings on the router that could be changed or manipulated?

The headphones have a Tune button that's supposed to help, but it doesn't work more often than it does.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Never mind, I fixed it.

I updated my router's firmware, and changed the wireless channel from "11" to "6". I don't really know what a wireless channel is exactly, but hey, it worked.

If you want it to work even better, change your wireless AP to channel 1. The reason is that channel 6 can cause interference with channel 11 (same goes for channel 1 and 6).

If your headset is operating in the frequency range of Ch.11, you'll completely remove any interference between the two by switching your AP to channel 1.

Cool! Good info. I'll try it when I get home tonight.

Thank you!
