Yes it's better, so I can see the ISP's jacking up the price to use it, even though it requires less equipment.

Aside from dealing with the sponsor ads, in most cases it will be free to access and for a large coverage, wimax is less expensive to install.

Actually they r trying to solve that problem, but every vendor developing it within their interest, so
You can find out few PCMCIA and USB portable devices from Siemens, Clearwire etc. But they wouldn't work every ISP

These WiMax End User CPEs, Actually CPE might be around 80$-300$ and serice would be around 40$-100$ , i guess ... :D
