Hi all,
I am trying to build a wireless LAN at work and need to be able to service Windows XP desktops with 802.11g and Mac laptops with airport cards using 802.11b.
I am trying to decide which wireless router and PC adapters to buy. I was thinking about the airport extreme, but I am not sure which PC adapters to buy for it. Also, I heard that as soon as a client using 802.11b logs in the whole network slows down to 11Mbps.
Is this true, and does anyone have any experience doing this? Is there a better way to achieve what I want?
Thanks

I don't think I could recommend that anyone buy the pre-11g stuff that's available. Besides the fact that it's still prestandard, I see lot's of problems being posted elsewhere, and the review are so-so.

Wait for the kinks to get worked out.

That's kind of what I figured as well. But our office manager wants wireless. I think I will wait for the dust to settle like you say.
Thanks
