peer-to-peer possible?

Is there a way to set up two laptops so they can create a peer-to-peer network?

Maybe to share files or ???

The peer to peer function is built into the 802.11b wireless hardware/software. No access point is required. File sharing capabilities are built into the notebook operating system.

I haven't had a chance to play with the hardware, so I wasn't sure about that. It's suprisingly hard to find the answer to such a basic question, I guess 'cause everyone already "knows" that.

So I'm glad I found this place, and I do appreciate your answer.
