I bought a generic Wifi Link on Ebay because it said you could just plug it in and you could connect your DS and Wii to the internet. Well, I've got it plugged in and I installed the software, but it keeps telling me that it can't find a wireless network connection to use. How do I make it understand that my computer is already connected to the internet? It is a WLAN 11g USB Adapter, and I have it plugged into a powered USB porthub (that I bought from the same guy.) I tested it out with my DS (the Wii will get here tomorrow) and I don't get a signal from it. Help!

My head is swimming from trying to read stuff about this. I'm wondering if I was supposed to get a wireless router? That doesn't seem right though because a few years back, I got a Nintendo wifi thingie so that I could trade Animal Crossing stuff from my DS over the internet, and that thing just plugged into my USB port no problem. I'd then have to open the program up, and it would make connection that my DS would pick up. I wish I still had that thing, but I sold it with the game.

Hi,

The phrase you're looking for is peer-to-peer networking. I've not tried with a Wii or DS, but on most wireless kit you should be able to do it - this article might help answer some of your questions:
