Hey guys,

So there is a free wifi hotspot that I'm picking up in my neighborhood. I have a full signal strength (bought an extra antenna) and have connected once before. But 99% of the time my card won't connect. When I go through my linksys wifi program, it says it cannot communicate with the access point. Is there any work around here? Any help is much appreciated.

Does this AP belong to a business thats running a free wifi hotspot or is it at someones house? If its at something like a coffee shop that provides free wifi they may have a limited amount of IPs available so that the available bandwith per user is greater. This prevents to many people geting on the conection and causing it to be useless. If the AP is at someones house and you cannot get into it they may have a MAC list setup on it.
