Hello everyone I have a few question about some tranzeo equipment I am using.

My first question and current problem is a Tranzeo TR410. The unit is setup at my house as AP. The unit is connected to a 6000 series tranzeo that is connected to the local wisp. Antenna on the 410 is a 12dbi omni. I have the unit setup at my house as AP so my younger brothers can get online with their PSPs. Now some of the time this setup works great. Problems arise when they have not connected to it in awhile and go to do so. They always get a DNS error from the PSP. It seems to suggest the 410 is not set in DHCP but it is on the WAN side and the LAN side. When this problem happens the only way that seems to fix it is unplug the 410 and plug it back in and then all seems to work but is usually never last. My computer is also connected to the 410 wirelessly with a USB adapter that is on my computer. The computer never shows errors but it also has the problem and when you go to pull up the internet browser it says page cannot be displayed. The computer is also disconnecting from the 410 for a split second at time very often. It acts as if the 410 has been unplugged. The signal is ok on the computer. The 410 and antenna are sitting in my basement practically below it. There is little to no metal in between the computer and the antenna of the 410 but signal seems like it should be higher. I thought the USB adapter may have been causing the problem of the computer disconnecting from the 410 for the split seconds when it does so I connected to the 410 on my brothers PSP while it was doing it and the signal was dropping allot. I know the 410 is not a high power unit(only 15dbm) but threw a 12dbi omni I would think it would be doing allot better than it is. I know the signal dropping like it is and the DNS errors are two different problem but it leads me to believe something is going in the 410.

Second question I have is also regarding the 410 and internet speed. When I connect directly to the 6000 series with the computer via Ethernet cable to the injector the speed according to online speed test is allot slower then when I am going through the 410 wirelessly. The difrence in the speed its showing is a big one to. Is it possible the online speed test are being fooled or is it really faster?

I also am wondering if I can login into a CPE80 over the internet and remote manage it. My friend has one setup at his house and is connected to his uncles house right down the street. His uncle is using a Netgear WGT624. I am able to remote manage that but have no idea about the 80 series. I set this up for them and for the most part it works great but on occasion my friend has problems and I would like to be able to log onto the 80 series and see what’s going on. The 80 series also does not seem to have the RX sensitivity that I thought it would. Any idea of why that would be?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

It does sound like the 410 is having problems.
Try pasting that question in an email for tranzeo tech support.
One thing on the speed test, If you try it again connected to the 6000 directly reboot both the AP and the PC or plug in with the 2 shut off then boot up.
I've seen a few tranzeo devices for sale as broken with the problem described as not able to resolve dns , won't pass traffic on the wireless side.

TO remote manage any device connected behind a router , you need to set the router up to forward the request to the devices IP on port 80.
Port forwarding
virtual server
Depends on the brand of device .
pick a port like say 8888 or 9211 or 222 IE for the wan side. and use 80 for the lan side.
From your PC you would hit your friends IP xx.xxx.xx.xxx:your port#
just like logging into the router most use 8080 by default xx.xx.xx.xxx:8080
This will tell the router to send the request to the IP of the device you told it too on port 80 LAN side.
The cpe is it outside HIGH and in the clear?
Moving the router in different locations might help the signal, trying different channels.
If the uncle doesn't use the wireless try a reflector on it's antenna.
Or get another AP up high in a window or outside.

The CPE is in the clear we did some adjusting of its position and were able to get a signal of -64dbm. We have a clear line of sight to the house as well.

I did end up contacting Tranzeo about the 410 and they wanted to log into it. I gave them my IP but they could not find me. I suppose they got stopped by the WISP.

Also was going to ask before but forgot to. My computer will not allow me to remote manage his uncles router or anything else but my brothers PSP I have no problem doing so on. Is there something in the settings that would be stopping this?

Thanks again for all the help!

Would it be possible to put a new card in the tranzeo?

I would think it's possible , Tranzeo would know more about that type of surgery.I have yet to play with a 410.
As per logging into the 410 remotely, it's plugged behind the 6000 AP , If that radio is set in router mode all in coming requests on port 80 for the gui would need to be forwarded to the 410's ip address on your end.
You could ask the wisp to set it up for you. pick an external port or ask them to provide it to you. when you type it in a browser xxx xx xx xxx:portnumber
ask them to forward it to your IP or your routers IP on another port then tell your router to forward than port to the 410's ip on port 80.
I have seen a few tranzeos ack up from interference where it would change TX rates when set to AUTO , they will drop rates till it hits bottom and stay there sometimes locking up. I pick the rate it works best on and tell it to use that rate.

Seems the 410 is shot so a new AP will be replacing it. Thanks again for all the help!
