zoneCD 1.2-7 won't mount USB thumbdrive

Hi all, I'm trying to boot zoneCD 1.2-7 and I can't get past the part where the .iso looks for 'configuration media'. None of my systems contain 3.5" floppy drives, so I'm using a 1GB USB thumbdrive (formatted FAT). I've tried everything I can think of, including launching zoneCD from a CDR, DVDR, and VM, but it just keeps saying that it can't mount the drive, and won't proceed any further. This same thumbdrive is readily recognized by windows, CentOS, and Ubuntu. Any ideas or suggestions?

More than likely DOS does not have drivers for a USB drive. You will need to check that out.
