802.11 history

I have an hour long presentation due on feb 20. I am looking for resources for the "history" of 802.11. I am also looking for a chart or info on the differences between all the standards.. 802.11a b d e f g ...etc At this point in my project the most important is the history of 802.11...

802.11 has come a long way through the years. I would start looking for information about the DFWMAC invented by Phil Belanger and Wim Deipstraten out of NCR in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Currently the group in Holland is part of Agere Systems.
