Hey out there,
Anyone know of companies manufacturing cordless/wireless WLAN compatible IP phones.
We're looking for one that will give coverage in the WLAN coverage area(approximately 7 mile radius)....and preferably one that is less than $200.00.
Thanks

This is one option I have never used it so I don't know how it works... Click Here (http://www.symbol.com/products/wireless/netvisionphone.html) to see

You may also want to keep your eye open for DECT phones jumping the Atlantic and using 802.11. People say such phones could start showing up in a year or two.

I don't know about the distance you referred to but the spectralink IP phones seem to be getting some interest as well. http://www.spectralink.com/products/NetLinkIP.html
what WLAN product are you planning on using? Just curious. Don't most Access Point products have about a 1.5 mile limitation due to timing issues?

Thanks for your replys everyone.
What I've found out so far is that Spectralink and Symbo are selling phones right now. Avaya is partnering with a startup can't remember their name to provide a solution allowing users of a
Compaq PDA as an 802.11 phone. None of the solutions are cheap enough for our business model yet.
We aren't sure which equipment we will go with yet we are investigating WLAN, Avaya, Linksys and RLINK products.
Our vendors are telling us we can get up to an 11 mile coverage area.
Just saw an article on this web site that cover a 6 mile radius

Our network would be a VPN and we'll use several acess points and signal boosting technology.
