Ill spare you the details but i live in a rural area and get no net... my cousin 2.7miles away gets internet. i want his signal...what can i do to achieve this.

Here is the research ive done so far let me know what you guys think.

also i got more specs on the area. Below is the picture (top is wireless source, bottom locationi is my house)

In google maps i assume welev is meters above water level soooo...

my house is 278meters above -----> cousins house is about 288meters ------> and the highest point in between is 299

Ive called sparcotech.com and they (just from phone convo) suggested getting grid satelites on both ends with boosters which seems alot cheaper than the other method i found below.

on another note....do they have to be perfectly straight? or can you setup grid satelites to meet at points on an angle? like at that distance an angle of 5-10 degrees should even clear any obstructions.

Ive also found this product, when i inquired about they said an amp would help (i would need two) and they dont guarantee anything...

NLOS Point to Point Bridge Kit...

Basically it will be difficult to set something up that wouldnt skim the tree tops and watever it is that is 299meters above sea level in the middle.

With the 2.4 Ghz equipment I can say with 99% accuracy that you will NOT be able to make a connection at that distance.
5.8 Ghz will be worse.
Your only option is to find a closer source with a CLOS-(Clear line of sight)
Or try 900Mhz equipment. I just bought some 900Mhz radios used on ebay.
I'm going to try them in 2 or 3 places from close to 1 mile to 2.5 mile links weather permitting this fall. I haven't got them yet.
I have seen the newer models on a few sites listed at $366.00 each with POE injector and built in 11 DBi panel antenna.

Will they work for you? I have no idea , but for now it's the best hope of connecting to your friends lan.
