802.11 vs UWB

Do you see 802.11 and Ultra Wideband (UWB) as complimentary or competing technologies.

What happens if FCC releaxes the UWB power limitations and UWB becomes more of a WLAN technology.

Are there any applications where the two can work together like a 802.11/Bluetooth combination especially in consumer electronics. What kind of applications may need both the technologies.

UWB would likely provide technical competition to 802.11 systems. 802.11 products, however, have a significant jump on proliferation which could make it tough for UWB products to succeed.
