If I'm reading this correctly, you want to extend the wireless to other parts of your house.
Consider this...

I understood and the Netgear product will work, but just to make sure...
You have a sat system that you update via its web interface.
Currently you have to take your PC and connect it directly to the sat system to make any changes. I'm assuming this connection is with a network cable and if so, the sat system has a static IP address and you've configured another static IP on the PC to communicate with the sat system.
You'd like to link the sat system to your Linksys router so you can manage the sat system from the PC that's connected to the Linksys router.
If this is correct, keep reading, if not, I really mis-understood....
Configure a static IP on the sat system that is outside of the DHCP range of the Linsys router but on the same subnet.
With the Netgear powerline adapter (wired version). Plug one adapter into a wall outlet near the sat system. Plug the network cable from the Netgear to the sat system.
Take the second Netgear powerline adapter and plug into an outlet somewhere near your Linksys router. Plug the network cable from the Netgear into one if the four switch ports on the router.
From the PC that's connected to the same linksys router, you should be able to access the web interface of the sat system via the static IP assigned to it.

I would suggest testing the gaming adapter with your PC that's close to the wireless router. If that works, and still doesn't work when connected to the sat system, then it's too far away or the IP address on the sat system is not in the same subnet with your LAN.
If it's a problem of being too far, re-read my post for the Netgear product.
