Wireless newbie here. I bought an inexpensive Trendnet TEW-423PI wireless PCI adapter card last week. It installed fine & worked great with zero problems for several days. I went away for a few days & now none of my programs want to use the wireless connection. Instead, they all call for the dial-up connection when I start the browsers, Newsreader, download manager etc.
The access point is unsecured, and the config utility shows a good quality connection and high signal strength.
I have rooted around in numerous forums, followed tips from the Trendnet site, and played with the Win2000 network settings. No joy.
How can I get my software to "see" the WiFi connection instead of calling for the modem?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I really got spoiled for the few days I had the use of the high speed connection.
In doing some further reading here, I see that running <ipconfig /all> is helpfull. I see that i'm maybe not getting an IP automatically.
