Proxim Orinoco AP-600 not broadcasting SSID

I haven't worked with these APs before. I wasn't able to find the info on their support site. Does anyone know if there is a setting to turn off and on the broadcasting of the SSID? I think this unit I have has a hardware problem because the wireless interface shows lots of FCS errors and they keep growing in a matter of seconds.

Anyway, even if I get this replaced, I was just wondering if there was a setting to turn off the SSID broadcast like on a LinkSys.

There is, and please do not feel that this is trite, but it is clearly mentioned in the manual.

Also if the device is throwing those kinds of errors, I would agree with your assessment and if possible get a replacement. That is a good device and Proxim is a good vendor. As an aside are you happy now GolfNut. Seriously, call Proxim. They will sort out a replacement for you.

Thanks for the reply. I was in a rush so I just scanned the manual quickly. I had reset the device to factory defaults just to be sure broadcasting of the SSID wasn't disabled.

What I really needed was another opinion on the FCS errors, and you provided that. Thank you very much. :)
