Hi I have currently a unsecured wireless connection and have been researching and want to put on wpa2.

Just a few questions, I have many devices connecting to the wifi server in the house. The nintendo ds lite, psp, nokia n95 and 2 laptops. Would I have to keep entering passwords to connect or would it automatically connect?

Does you windows xp have to be geninuine to download wpa2?

Also I have no idea how to install it, is there a dummy's step by step guide to install it?

I am not sure I have posted this in the right section, please move it if needed

WPA is good enough for a home network.

As for how to configure it, I would start with the users guide for the wireless device you currently have. Check that all of the devices connecting to the network support WPA.

And yes, any Windows download requires a licensed operating system.

WPA with TKIP using a strong password (IE non-dictionary, non-guessable) will be MORE than anyone would ever need. The ONLY way to crack WPA is by bruit force attacks so thats why you need a good password/pass phrase.

If your looking for a good password head here: https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm
