Hello. I am running XP Home on a Sony Vaio PCG-k25 laptop. For some reason, my wireless just randomly went down. No software changes (add or remove), no driver changes, nothing. It was working fine one day, and then the next, couldn't find any wireless networks. I have tried my wireless, my neighbors, friends, everything, and it never sees any. I can connect fine through LAN, just not WLAN.
My computer recognizes the card completely, and uninstalling the driver did not help. The computer saw it as a new card again and installed it. Still did not work. So it says it is functioning and working, but when it is enabled, it doesn't see any networks.
I ordered an OEM wireless card for this computer. Installed the card fine, but after my computer boots up, after about 2-5 minutes, my OS freezes and I can't do anything. Take out the new one, put the old one in, and it boots up fine without freezing...still no wireless.
I have talked to tech support, emailed tech, nothing. Reinstalled windows since that's what they all thought it was. Nope, nothing yet.
Any ideas??

Thanks

What type of wireless cards are you using? Are they PCMCIA or are they USB?

I wonder if you are not dealing with two issues. It sounds like your first card died and you have driver issues on your second card. Have you tried either card in someone else's computer?
