I installed a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. It is connected to a Westell 6100 modem from Verizon DSL. My desktop is connect by an ethernet cable and I am connected to the internet at the desktop.
I have a Gateway Solo2500 Rev 1 laptop with Win 2000 Professional build 2195, SP4, 333 meg Intel Celeron processor, 288 Megs of memory (the max. for this machine). I have most of the upgrades and service pack I have a new Linksys wireless adaptor 2.4 GHzModel WPC54G V. 3. It finds the router access point but not the internet. We put in all the IP addresses andthey are correct. The modem is bridged. I use IE 6, SP1 as my browser. Why can't I connect to the internet. I spent 3 hours with Linksys and they cannot figure it out.
