WEP help/D-Link and Orinoco

How do setup WEP on my WiFi Lan, i have a D-Link 713P router and my laptop has a Orinoco Silver card. I've tried to setup keys on both the router (Alpha & Hex) and the card but have yet to be successful. Once the router has the encription on and i re-boot my laptop does not recognize the network. What am I missing?

I have a 3Com card and a D-Link 900+ AP. I also had similar problems.

This is how I resolved it...I do not know if it will work for you. First, I am using WinXP Pro and am not using 3Coms configuration utility. I made the 128 bit hex code on the AP (making sure I followed hex code rules), rebooted the AP, then copied/pasted it to a txt file on my laptop via wired network. Then I copied/pasted it into my laptops configuration.

I then rebooted the laptop. It worked. However, it might take a couple of reboots of the router for it to work for you. Hope this helps.
