Ok first of all thank you for taking the time to check out my problem. I'm not exactly new to setting up and problem solving wireless network problems and I have a feeling that my problem is just a wrong IP address in the wrong area. I currently have a printer set up on my wireless network via an ethernet cable wired to my D-link router. I have a D-link DWL-810+ wireless ethernet bridge that supposedly makes any network device wireless. My settings are as followed. The printer TCP/IP port is set to the printer's IP address and works fine when hard wired. I've configured the ethernet bridge through the admin settings by wiring it to my router and going through the whole 192.168.0.30 thing. Ran the wizard and entered in the correct SSID, Key, Channel (when using ad hoc, not sure if I need to or infrastructure, tried both.), etc. Thought all I would need to do is plug in the bridge to my printer and that would be it. WRONG. Print error message about unable to connect. So my question is to I need to adjust the static IP address of the bridge to match the printers or adjust some other IP address in either the router or the printer? Any sugesstions?
Here's the link for configuring the bridge. (http://www.dlink.com/products/DWL-G820/wireless-bridge-installation-guide.asp)

Try hooking the 810 to a computer directly. Configure it to connect to your router make sure it's Ip is in the same subnet and give it an IP address that is just outside of the routers dhcp table . IE 192.168.0.1 to .60 might be your routers IP range .60 being the last number Set the bridge to .65 or higher.
Once your pc is connected to the router via wifi through the bridge , hook it to the printer and reboot the printer maybe the router as well Just unplug it for 1 minute or so.
You might have to go through the manual for the printer and see if it needs to be set in ad hoc or infastructure. Or if you can set an IP in the printer set it like the bridge just out side it's dhcp table.

It would be best right now if you got to a command prompt and typed the command ipconfig /all. Publish it here and we can then help you setup the correct static IP addrs for the Dlink as well as printer.
If you are trying things and testing the simplest way to determine if the link is working is to again get to a command prompt and try the ping command using the Dlink's IP addr, if that works then try the printer's IP addr.

I will post what shows under the ipconfig command prompt as soon as I get home. I did try to set up the bridge to use it exclusively for my laptop but I had to manually set up the same IP address, submask, and gateway under the properties of the connection. It couldn't automatically configure the IP address. So I then tried to plug it into the printer with no luck. It did however stop giving me a pop up error saying it couldn't spool because of no connection but still showed and error in the print window.I then tried a number of things like assigning the bridge and printer with a static IP address in the DHCP tab of my router settings, changing the printer IP address to match the bridge IP adress and reassigning the TCP/IP printer port to match, changing the printer IP address to 192.168.0.200 and the bridge to 192.168.0.250 with my DHCP table at 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199. None of the above worked. I currently have the bridge set up at IP address 192.168.0.102 submask 255.255.255.0 and gateway to match the router at 192.168.0.1, the bridge at all the same except the IP address at 192.168.0.102, and the printer all the same with the IP address at 192.168.0.101. The only issue I think is a problem is the router only recognized the bridge once in the DHCP page of the router settings and the printer off and on sometimes with the correct host name and other times with an "unkown" host name. Still dumbfounded as to what it could be. Thanks for the help so far and thanks in advance for any additional help.

I think I had a 810 once . Does it not have a site survey button . I remember mine would connect with ease when hooked to a pc .
Do you have security running on the router?

Yeah I do have a WEP shared key set up and I did run the wizard on the 810. I used the Site survey, it found my network and I entered the key and everything seemed to set up fine. When I open my router settings I doesn't show up on the DHCP client list. So I said I would post my IPconfig info so here it is.

OK the next steps involve the command called ping. Please get to a command prompt and ping the following. Also for now remove encryption from the network
192.168.0.100
192.168.0.1
Dlink bridge IP addr
Printer IP addr
Let us know what the results are.
Hi, I have the same problem but with a linksys system, the printer does not work when wired through the bridge. I wired the printer to a switch and the switch to the bridge. Another computer is wired to the same switch. The computer pings the router, the switch and the bridge. The router finds the printer in the DHCP list and asisgns the IP address. The port for the printer has the same IP address. When the bridge is wired to the router the printer prints but when wireless it does not. Any comments? solutions?
Thanks
