Question from a newbie

Hi,
I know this is abit naughty but...I travel often and take my laptop equipped with Centrino with me. I generally piggyback on to other's signals. However, sometimes the signal is weak and slow. I've heard that I can modify my laptop so that it picks up those signals better. Can anyone give details as to how I can do this?

Besides being possibly illegal, you are also putting your computer and information at risk.

If you are referring to the on board wireless adapter there is very little you can do to improve its capacity to receive. You would have to buy another wireless client adapter that had the ability to use an external antenna.
