I need help

I have a Dynex router as my primary and a Belkin 54g as my secondary set up in my room. recently i disabled DHCP on my belkin so i could connect to all the computers on my network but i discovered that my laptop which is the only wireless device on the network isn't discoverable or cannot discover other computers on the network or use any of the shared printers. Can someone pls help me!

Plug the cable from the router acting as a DHCP server into one of the 4 switch ports instead of the Internet port on the Belkin.
