Hi,

does anyone know, how i can set the AP back to factory defaults?? the small ResetButton on the back doesnīt work!!

my problem, is that i bought the Ap in the USA and the seller shipped it to me (Germany), it works, but i canīt get access to the the Interface. i see the html where i can type in the combo of PW and username, but any combo as it is described in the manual doesnīt work...for example Admin with blank password
Admin with 5up..i tried many combos, but noone works!!

the seller says he didnīt type in a PW.

and so the last chance to get it working, is maybe to open the AP, and lock for jumpers?? but i cant see anything like this!!

some can help me??

Thanks!!

ps.: sorry for my english:D

There is more to it thsan simply pushing the reset button. Complete instructions for using the reset button are here. (http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?action=support_tools_show_FAQ&note_id=42)

I have the same problem, the factory button dosen't seem to work.

I've tried holding it down for 30 seconds while the unit is running, and also holding it down for 30 seconds, removing the power cable while holding down the reset for a further 30 seconds and then reconnecting the power cable while holding down the reset for 30 more seconds.

Every time the unit seems to reboot but does not reset to factory defaults.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Regards

Liam

Are you using the same type of equipment as the OP or something different?

Hello All,

I am having the same problem as the others in this thread. I was wondering if anyone has found a solution? I am the original owner of the AP and it ran for years with no problems. It all started when I had to rebuild the machine that was using the AP and I forgot my WEP key. I went to log in and found I was using the default username and password YIKES! I changed the password and my problems started. The AP rebooted and from then on I have not been able to get back into it. I have tried a bunch of reset sequences and none have worked. One thing I have noticed is if I take out the network cable hold the reset button for about 8 seconds it will reboot. The power light will flash 14 times, slight pause, then flash another 74 times. When this happens it will reset the IP of the AP to the default 192.168.1.20but the SSID stays the same and no user name and password combo will work. Now if I leave the network cable in and do the same thing the power light will flash 10 times, pause, flash 3 times, pause, then flash 12 times. Then the IP will change back to the IP I had assigned it when I set it up which is 192.168.2.22 . Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh
