Good day all,
Recently I've the chance to setup a wireless network to one of the primary school in my area, anyway, using 2 D-Link DWL3200AP with 8DBi antennas and 1 15DBi omni- directional. Configured both as WDS with AP, changed the IPs of both APs to 192.168.0.50 and 192.168.0.51, set both APs to same channel, capture both MAC addresses(rogue). Set SSID to same on both APs, set security to WPA Personal (TKIP)as I could not get all the teachers to come together for MAC filtering. Signal strength was quite good during roaming as this is a relatively small school.. During briefing with the teachers, I managed to get all their notebooks to connect and browse, however, couple of days later, the teachers start to call me as they could not connect!
Changed 1 of the AP as it was of a different software version, connection back to normal.
Couple of days later, they called me again as they once again could not get connected!
Reboot the school ADSL router as the AP run POE- back to normal
Could it be the school router hanged resulting in the AP to hanged as well?
I was told by a friend not to used same channel or I'll keep getting call from the teachers???
Please help as I am a one man show and I do have other customers to attend to..
Regards
