Has anyone ever tried these? Much of the literature out there says that the design indeed does work effectively, but they almost seem too inexpensive. I kinda like the fact they don't void my Cisco AP's warranty?

I have a WRT54G in my basement. It covers about 2/3 of the house quite will but there is a bedroom at the other end that does not get much signal. I built the Windsurfer antenna and it fixed the problem. Here is a bunch more information and ideas:
