I was wondering if anyone has had success using voip over 900MHz to be even more specific the Motorola Canopy 900MHz. I am pretty sure it won't be reliable for voip due to bandwidth limitations and the higher latencies associated with this frequency, but I would like to get opinions and some hands on input from others to verify so I can tell my boss that there is no way for it to be reliable. Jitter is about 2 or 3 on average and latencies are from 30ms up to 500ms. Now I know 100ms is max for Voip but if its possible to get these down would it work? Thanks

We use voip on our Canopy network wothout any problems. We use 5.7 and 900. As long as the latency isnt over 100 you shouldnt have any problems.

We have a customer that runs an entire Voip based PBX on a 900 SM, it works really well.
MidcalBroadband is right, good ping times are the key, both across your network to your T1 and out to your Voip provider.

Isn't Motorola Canopy being phased out by the end of this year?
