Me and a friend want to create a wireless network - we have 3 computers to network - i have 2 at my house right next to each other and he has one. our houses are roughly 300 to 400 feet apart with no real obstructions other than a fence (which shouldn't be a problem since we are on a hill looking down at his house), and our walls - our rooms are at the ends of the house that face each other. we live in a rural area so interferince is not a problem. I have Windows Xp on my main pc, win 98 on my other, and he has win 98 on his. range is the main problem - i bought two usb smc adapters rather hastily without thinking and they didn't work at all - they got about 10 feet of range. anyway mounting an antenna is a problem with our houses. speed is not a big issue as this will mostly be for multiplayer gaming, transferring small files, chatting, etc. im new to wireless networking well networking in general, really so any suggestions on how to set all this up would be appreciated. thanks, justin.
