I've set up my second WLAN and with every one, something interesting happens after a long period of inactivity. The signal from the base staitons just drops off until you "reactivate" the wireless lan in the router (by rebooting or modifying settings).
My specs are here, and the one that is giving me the most issues:
D-link DI-614+ Wireless Router (Channel 6)
iBook with Airport
IBM a30p with Actiontec wireless internal card
128-bit WEP enabled.
The network will work great all day, with both computers surfing the net, transferring files, etc without incident. However, shut them both off at night and in the morning you awake to no signal. The IBM will show something, but nothing that is usable, and the Airport will show something sometimes and won't take the password.
Any ideas why? A similar thing happened to a friend's network, but they were using SMC equipment, so I'm curious f it's something we're doing wrong (I set up both networks)?
