Maybe its easy, but does any know how windows determ if there is a valid internet connection. because when i go to "Internet connection" my icon where it say "internet connection" Disable. but there is no problem in surfing the internet, and if i click the icon it tried enable it but switch to disable again. i think its something to do with the router because i tried another router where it just enabled. but the internet works fine on both routers. Could it be something with UPNP?

Most likely the Internet connection you are referring to is the one created for the dial up modem. You are accessing the Internet through the Local Area Connection.

Sorry, I do not understand what you said.

All I said is that you referred to Internet Connection and unless you renamed that connection in your Network Places, the one you are using to connect to any device using wireless or Ethernet is called Wireless Network Connection or Local Area Connection.

I found this link that says its something with UPNP Fulton (http://www.fulton.net.au/qt030.htm) and after what i can read. some routers have problems with Windows UPNP feature so maybe its displayed wrong

I see your point, but you do not even really need that connection as you are in reality working through the either of the two connections I mentioned. I just delete that connection.

that just me. I freak out when i see something works wierd, and want to find out the background off the problem. as i worte. I cant see any visable problems with windows detecting it as disable.

That is because you are not really using that connection, hence it is disabled automatically. I like your approach of wanting to know the hows and whys, good for you.
