I am having problems with a new engenius EUB-362 ext wireless usb adapter. My current setup is 2 laptops with pcmcia cards, one is linksys and the other is a netgear. Two desktop with wirless pci cards. One with a airlink pci and the other is the engenius EUB usb adapter.
The two laptops and desktop with wirless pci cards work prefectly fine. The problem is with the engenius EUB-362 usb adapter. I am getting really slow download speeds on it, but upload is working perfectly fine. When I go to DSLREPORTS, to do a speed test, i get speeds a little better than a modem. This is the 4th USB adapter I have gone through and all had the same problem. I went through a linksys WUSB11, netgear MA111, and a netgear WG111T and now the engenius. All usb adapters I have bought and returned have experience the same problems of slow downloads. I even installed each of the usb adapters on the 2 laptops and the other desktop, and still the same problems. I know usbs adapters should work good or else I would of seen a lot of complaints about usb wireless adapters.
Sorry for this being so long, but I have tried all the basic trouble shooting like changing channels, messing with permable, etc... The router I am using is a netgear MR814V2 802.11b, and I dont' know what else to do. My last choice is to change out the router, but I don't see why speed drops are only occuring on usb adapters only? Usbs are suppose to have high transfer rates, but I am not getting it. Please help........
