Hi, this is my first post over here and i´m needing some help :o I have a tower of 7 meters tall with a 24dbi antenna, i need to make a long run of cable until my PC (about 20 meters), if i use coaxial i will get a lot of attenuation right? I´ve been told that the best way for long cable is to put the router in a box (or something like that :P) near the antenna, and then use cat5e cable. Is this option good? If i use cat5e will i get some kind of signal loss? what type?. What you people think it´s the best way to achieve what i want?.

Thanks in advance :D

Use Cat. 5 and keep it under 100 meters. No signal loss through a network cable.

Greg is correct, I just wanted to inject that you would want to use an outdoor and weather-rated cable as the normal Cat5 will deteriorate quite rapidly due to UV radiation.

Wow, no signal loss? Great then. The normal CAT5 is the one for outdoor use? or there´s also a CAT5e for outdoor? Thanks a lot :D

The ratings of the cable do not have anything to do with whether it is made for outdoors or not.
