well here it is...i have a netgear wireless B router setup threw a dsl connection..the wireless settings are unsecured for people to connect automatically...i have 5 laptops all connect no problem wirelessly..all just connect automatically or i go into the wireless setting see the network and say connect..windows warns that this network is not secure and of course i say connect anyways....the problem is with 1 laptop which is a new sony avio laptop ..or sony avo or sony avi...not sure of last letters...I see the network and connect to it,but when i click on the bottom right hand screen to see the wireless settings it says bytes recieved is low 5-100....but the it seems if you leave it sit there it jumps up to....after awhile maybe 3,500 bytes received...turned on the other day and it connects...but the bytes received are very low....never seen this before...was wondering if anyone has seen this before and ALSO ONE MORE QUESTION IS THERE A PLACE TO LEARN ABOUT INDEPTH WIRELESS... like how may bytes received...decibals..and so on....Iam a newbi trying to learn hands on,,but it would be nice to have a mentor or someone to point me in the right direction to learn the tricks of the trade.....thanks alot... :cool: :cool:also the connection is great...I have an excellent connection showing on the wireless settings and no other networks are in the area...
