Hi everyone-
I have a question regarding setting up a wireless LAN at home.
The main goal is to share a DSL connection between two users. I wonder if I need, in addition to an Access Point, a wireless router.
Is there any help out there?
thanks,

You will require the following functionality:
-the interface to the provider's network (your DSL 'modem')
-DHCP
-NAT or PAT
-a switch

You can get a single box to do all this (a four-port switch/router)

Once you have this in place, the wireless link just hangs off the switch. The RF connectivity can be incorporated into your switch/router, but doesn't have to be.

Many times, the best place for your router isn't the ideal location for the wireless AP, and you might consider running a Cat5 cable from the router's switch port to the AP location.

This is what i ahve @ home 2 PCs and one laptop I have DSL conection.
1. Dlink router/ap DI614+
2.Dlink wireless PCI adapters DWL520
1.Dlink DWL650+
I also have a back up ethernet conection on one of my PCs just in case. I would say that my home network works fine. I never loose conectio. Speed is good and i can be out side of my house and online with no problem. and as far as security Im using MAC filters.

Check Linksys, Netgear, D-Link, SMC, AmbiCom, Belkin, Buffalo, Microsoft, etc.--all have wireless routers.

Cnet is a good place to do some reseach on the different brands/models (http://computers.cnet.com/hardware/search/0,10121,0-1037-401-0,00.html?tag=st.re.9870989.dir-802b.7055-402-0&qt=802%2E11b&cn=Networking&ca=1037)

(If this link is inactive, go to cnet.com, select "product reviews," and then "wireless 802.11b" in the "networking & wireless" section.)
