I'm currently exploring options for hotspot deployment across a large number of sites, and need more input on what brands to explore.

What companies make good hotspot solutions? I am looking for a fully functional hotspot (and printer for accounts, unless someone can suggest a better solution) that can be deployed in a standard standalone configuration connected to a DSL line. This will be primarily used in reception areas, and with no connection to the production network (ie: no radius servers, etc). The site users will not be technical, so I cannot hack the firmware on a Linksys for example; I need something that is either intuitive or something I can document a standard setup on.

I am testing a ZyAir unit and printer from ZyXEL, and they have a very broad featureset and fairly easy/intuitive configuration. I am quite pleased with the performance of the unit, though I have only explored about half the features so far. I need a couple more brands before I make a decision though.

Thanks.

I would not go any further. Myself and a few others feel you have selected the best candidate already. But, that is an opinion.

Ditto... You won't find a better unit for the money and the number of features are incredible. Nomadix has even more features and is more money but for what you're doing, you've made the right choice.

We've used these at some sites with the printer and others connected to our radius/web server for user self-registration.
