Hi, we're trying to get a Linksys WRT54G working for our computer(s). We hook it up to the cable modem and the computer, and get it all set up in the Network Preferences. It seems to work fine, and we have no troubles accessing the IP address. We can change the settings and whatnot. But it won't let us connect to the internet for some strange reason, and we have to unhook it all, and hook just the modem up to the computer to get it running again.

I'm not sure where exactly we're going wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(We're running under Mac OS 10.3.9)

Most likely, you have the LinkSys publishing DHCP information and it is not the correct information. Try connecting the cable from the modem to one of the 4 switch ports and turning off DHCP on the LinkSys. If that works then you know what the problem is.
