I have a problem with this router connecting to an email server.
When collecting email from one particular server the initial connection is dropped by the server, reconnecting immediately results in a normal connection for about twenty minutes when the problem reoccurs. Connection to two other servers is normal at all times.
Replacing the router with an ADSL modem or connecting via WIFI in internet cafes and all is normal.
The router has the recommended firmware and performs normally in all other respects, resetting the router does not change the problem.
Any ideas?

If what you say is correct, then there appears to be an issue in the TCP/IP handshake traffic between your device and the traffic from that particular email server.

I might suggest running a sniffer like Ethereal on your computer when you are connected to one of the working email servers to get a good log. Then, connect to the troublesome email server with the sniffer active and see what is different in the traffic. Could be any one of a number of frame configurations that is not acceptable to one or the other.
