Is there a practical difference between these two antenna:

1) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9742299567&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

and

2) http://www.wlantenna.com/omni.htm [First item on page--the 8 dBi Omni antenna).

The price difference is dramatic ($19.95 for two 9 dBi antenna versus $36.95 for ONE of the antenna from wlantenna.com). Is there a difference I am missing? Woudl performance be drasticlly different indoors on an 802.11g router from Linksys or another comparable brand?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

There is no comparison. The first two are worthless IMO. The second antenna is a good outdoor antenna and would work just as well inside. But, do you need that extra protection?

I don't need "extra protection" but I have thick walls and the wimpy antenna my Linksys came with is not doing the trick.

So the ones on eBay are simply what... a scam? Are they worthless? Could you expound a little more on why you feel they are worthless? (I figured there had to be a difference due to the price inequality, but I dont know why.)

If you go to the second link there is a similar antenna to the ones you found on eBay. One costs $20.00 and is a lower dBi rating. Notice all the information it gives you about the antenna. Also WlanAntenna is a class act and I have no problem buying equipment from them.
