Hi,

Ok here is the scenerio

Wifi Router is connected with dsl modem

now to increase the coverage i have an AP, can i use it as repeater mode? and what settings do i have to use to be able to use with the router.. thanks

P.S. both router and ap are from different companies

The best thing you can do is read the manuals or go to the device's website and answer your questions. Those are not commonly used devices, so we would have to do the same thing. Sorry, as you did not even mention the models you have.

Router is Tp Link WR641G
and AP is Surecom EP-9600gp(A1)

Manuals didnt help me much that is why i posted my problem here, i also forgot to mention that router has wifi mac acces listing and ap mac is included in it.

i tried switching ap into repeater mode but it didnt work out, i might be missing something in settings of the ap i assume or there is compability issue?

I don't understand what you mean there.


BASIC STEPS (assuming devices are correctly cabled)
open the web-configurator for the device you wish to use as the repeater,
change the access point mode to repeater,
enter the MAC Address of the device you wish to repeat in the box provided.

check for connectivity by pinging the devices, do you get a reply from your AP and your router?
