I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of using horizontal polarization at access points at 2.4Ghz , instead of vertical polarization.
Best regards

Best regards aristotle oshea85 12-09-2002, 07:06 PM I'm not aware of any advantage to using horizontal polarization. Vertical polarization was originally used in radio transmissions because it did a better job of getting over hills and mountains than horizontal. Horizontal polarization is used with television broadcast (look at your TV antenna on your roof: the tines of the antenna are usually/predominantly in the horizontal plane) so as to get some cross-polarization rejection from radio transmissions (I'm stretching here, if someone knows better, please correct me). wi-fiplanet.com
